OUR STORY
It all began in 1974. Jean-Marie Louis, the father, opened his first shop in the heart of Liège. A watchmaker and passionate about antique timepieces, he worked alone in his workshop for many years, surrounded by cuckoo clocks, pendulum clocks, and clocks of all kinds.
HOUSE LOUIS
Jean-Marie Louis, the son, could have followed in his father's footsteps but instead pursued studies in jewelry making. In 2010, they nevertheless began working together, with the father passing on his knowledge and passion to his son.
The story took a new turn in 2015. Jean-Marie Louis, the son, officially took over the reins of the Liège workshop and also expanded it into a vintage watch boutique. Success was immediate: customers flocked to his shop, and the line grew longer on Saturdays outside his small boutique in Outremeuse, Liège. Events then unfolded rapidly, and a shared desire with his partner, Clelia, to combine watchmaking and jewelry was a recurring theme in their discussions. After a visit to a previously unseen business, the wheels were set in motion: “Jean-Marie Louis Horlogerie” became “Maison Louis” in January 2022.

COURSE
"I studied jewelry making for 5 years with a specialization in setting.
It is precisely this expertise that has allowed me to develop my creativity as well as other techniques less used in watchmaking (polishing, welding, design…).
This passion for creativity and watchmaking has continued to grow ever since.
It was in 2020 that the ideas began to materialize with the creation of the first "renaissance" clock, always on the same theme: creativity, traditional techniques and collaborations with other artisans.
